Well, I tried here a translation of the today’s blog posting – with the help of leo.org and google-translater. Not perfect, but perhaps able to give our english visitors here an idea of the irgendlink-blog-stuff :-)

Sitze im Coffeeshop in JOG, übervoll mit Tageserlebnissen und freue mich über die Flut an Kommentaren, die ich bald beantworten werde. Oder Morgen? Dusmo, Junge, immer schön dusmo!

Für 20 Pfund holt mich der Fährmann über. 10 vor 5 Ortszeit soll ich am Schiff sein. Sie fahren heute schon um 17 Uhr. Statt 18 Uhr. Ich bin wahrscheinlich der einzige Fahrgast auf der Personenfähre.

Bilder gibts, wenn das Netz stabiler ist oder ich Wifi finde. Ob’s das auf den Orkneys gibt?

http://www.wheemsorganic.co.uk heißt ein möglicher Campingplatz. Drei Meilen vom Fährhafen entfernt. Der Camping in JOG ist zwar schön, aber kaum ein windgeschütztes Plätzchen zu finden.

Etwas anderes als den Wind können wir überall finden.

Tag 49 – die Strecke

Nein, ganz oben ist er noch nicht, unser Irgendlink, aber fast. Auf den Orkney Islands ist er nun. Von John O’Groats aus ist er heute Nachmittag mit der Fähre nach Burwick übergesetzt.

Auf der Wheems Organic Farm, einem von einem Künstlerpaar geführten Paradieschen mit Camping, hat er für eine oder auch zwei Nächte einen Platz für sein Zelt gebucht. Aus den drei Meilen sind allerdings zehn Kilometer geworden. Doch das habe sich gelohnt, hat er gesagt.

In der Nacht von Donnerstag auf Freitag wird er mit der Fähre von Kirkwall (Orkney) nach Lerwick auf den Shetlands übersetzen. Der Shetlands’sche Flughafen befindet sich in Sumburgh, ganz im Süden der Inselgruppe. So wird dies dann seine für diesmal letzte Radfahrt auf den Inseln werden. Von dort aus fliegt er am Samstag nach Bergen in Norwegen weiter. So jedenfalls der Plan. :-)

Aus Kirkwall, wo Irgendlink wegen Fähren- und Flugbuchung, und natürlich auch um sich die Stadt anzuschauen, den Tag verbringt, erhalte ich Bild um Bild. Endlich wieder schnelles Netz, wie es aussieht.
